Real Time, of course, is a discussion about determinism. A recent RT client recorded the pressure on a chain holding a submarine to the floor of the ocean. The client required RT recording of that pressure every 5 minutes. Even the PCs of the early 80’s running DOS could deterministically keep up with that rate REAL TIME in spite of all the latencies from whatever other software was running.
