SUMMARY
Summit Technology Services, Inc. (STSI) provides project and application development and support for Input/Output, Inc. in Texas. Summit was involved with an engineering development effort dealing with geoseismic systems. The application development effort utilized vary hardware, software, communication protocols, and devices as well as National Instrument’s LabVIEW product.
Developed a LabVIEW controlled program to test and calibrate geoseismic acceleration sensors produced by Input-Output, Inc. at their Stafford, TX facility. The system was designed to test up to 48 of I-O, Inc. sensors at a time, communicating to each of the sensors individual processors by means of a proprietary serial bus protocol. Each of the sensors is queried for its individual acceleration reading at each of 8 rotational positions, these values used to calculate individual compensation calibration factors that are then written back to the specific sensor's eeprom. After every sensor has been queried at a specific test angle the test system is commanded to rotate to the next position. At the end of testing a report of passing/ failing sensors is saved for analysis by manufacturing and design engineer staff.
