IT TEST MANAGER

Partner with the assigned managed services technical lead and/or test lead on the Application Image Migration project (migrating applications to a new data center) to define and facilitate the execution of testing activities. Prior test lead experience is required so he/she can help build the test strategy for the project. Lead the definition and execution of the user acceptance testing that our client is responsible for on the project. Facilitate testing review meetings (progress updates, review outstanding testing defects) with the project team. Knowledge of QC would be helpful but is something the client can train him/her on. Previous experience in coordinating testing on large efforts such as data center moves is required.

This is a testing coordination role, not a hands-on testing role. Position involves reaching out to contacts in all of our Clients businesses to coordinate testing activities. The resource must be comfortable contacting people within the organization and following up as necessary to get the required information.

MACHINE VISION ENGINEER

General: Machine Vision System Engineer to work on various measurements projects
. 1-3 years of applied experience with measurements in process analysis used in grad or post doc work.

Key skills will be laser optics measures, ultrasonic, magnetic, optical, and electrical measurements of process performance.

Focus will be troubleshooting of automated process machines, material handling systems, and automation in Corning's manufacturing plants and processes.

Role within group:
Member of cross-functional Controls Engineering team responsible for support and functionality enhancements required for advanced manufacturing of automation and process machine systems in manufacturing

Day to Day Responsibilities:

Serve as an Electrical Controls resource for troubleshooting of production equipment in the Batch, Forming, Drying, Cutting, Firing & Finishing areas of the Diesel Manufacturing facility in Painted Post NY to support the 24/7 manufacturing of Diesel Filters.

Initiate and maintain relationships with Operations and Maintenance to provide first responder Controls and Level 1 I.T. support for the plant. Focus will be to safely get equipment back in operation and performing at established rates and quality. Detailed reports of activity will be sent out at the end of your shift to the Controls & I.T. Manger.

Control system troubleshooting will include but not limited to, Programmable Control Systems, Human Machine Interfaces, Robots, Motion Control, Measurement Systems, Instrumentation, Dryers, Kilns, Material Handling Systems, Networks, Computer system hardware / software application support for MES and data collection systems.

Work utilizing plant & division electrical controls standards. Serve as a technical resource for questions regarding deviation and interpretation as well as managing changes during off shift activities.

Individual must be capable of executing assignments, in a team based environment, with minimal supervision

Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time:
12 hr Rotating Shifts, however, expected to work hours required to achieve plant uptime objectives

Required Years and Area of Experience:
3-5 years of engineering experience with demonstrated success designing, developing and implementing, robust state of the art control solutions using machine / motion control systems, flexible automation, robotics systems, and electro-mechanical systems into manufacturing

1. Work Summary
Perform Requirements Analysis, Design, Development and Testing of embedded software. Candidate will need to follow defined development and process (CMMI-3) standards, including application of architectural standards used in embedded radio product development. Candidate must be willing to rework requirements/code/design based on feedback from other software developers (via requirement/code/design reviews) and develop high-quality work products which are thoroughly unit tested prior to integration.

Help develop and direct software systems testing procedures, programming and documentation. Perform wireless systems integration and testing.
Provide technical support to internal customers.
Execution of software development process in CMMI Level 3 environment.
Perform coding and unit test of resultant software/firmware.
Perform software/firmware component integration.
Identify, track and repair software/firmware defects.

2. Qualifications BSEE, BSCS, BSCE required or equivalent experience.
MS Desirable.
Must have a minimum of 7 years relevant industry experience with embedded firmware.
Must have a strong firmware and DSP development background.
Proficiency with C/C++ and ARM assembly required.
Experience with software emulators/debuggers required.
Proficiency with multi-threaded design and/or real-time operating systems is required.
Experience with various legacy and current VOCODORs, including CVSD, MELP, G.711, and G.729.

3. Position Description: Implement VOCORERs in ARM GPPs utilizing C/C++ and ARM NEON instructions, where applicable, to reduce CPU loading. Perform design simulations and capture design specifications.

Analyze requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.
